Montepulciano is a town in southern Tuscany, 70 km south-east of Siena, 124 km south-east of Florence and 186 km north of Rome.
How to reach us
A1 – From the north, the exit is Bettolle-Val di Chiana. From there, head towards Torrita di Siena and, then, leaving the village after turning left, follow the signs for Montepulciano. From the south, the exit is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme.
Superstrada Siena-Perugia – From Siena, head towards Arezzo and take the Sinalunga exit. From Perugia, the exit is Bettolle.
Via Cassia – From Siena, follow the directions for San Quirico d’Orcia, Pienza and Montepulciano. From Rome, follow the directions for Monticchiello and Montepulciano.
Several tourist buses connect Montepulciano to numerous Tuscan cities: Siena (75 minutes’ drive, four buses a day except Sunday), Pienza (30 minutes’ drive, eight a day), Montalcino (1 hours’ drive, 10 a day, changing in Torrenieri) and Chiusi (once an hour).
The nearest airports are Sant’Egidio in Perugia (75 km) and Peretola A. Vespucci in Florence (120 km), Galileo Galilei in Pisa (150 km) and Leonardo da Vinci in Rome, Fiumicino (250 km).
The nearest railway station is in Chiusi, half an hour away, where there are regular trains to and from Florence and Rome.
